Hello Everyone. I am a Transportation Engineer 1 in the Washington State Department of Transportation's (WSDOT) Eastern Region. Although I am not actively looking for a new role, I am open to new roles, specifically in the areas of Water/Wastewater/Stormwater and Transportation design.Thus far, my work experience consists of 18 months with WSDOT, and two summers of municipal engineering through internships with the City of Edina in the Minneapolis, MN area. I also possess a summer of utility maintenance experience from when I was a utility seasonal with the City of Golden Valley also in the Minneapolis, MN area. I have also developed excellent customer service skills from 6.5 years of working various retail jobs. Through my work experiences, I have developed excellent written and oral communication skills. I also possess skills related to completing Land Surveying, and using GIS tools, and am proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and currently learning Bentley Microstation/In-Roads. As someone who was been in school and worked part-time from 2015 through 2022, I am also proficient at balancing the differing expectations between work and academia. In the last 18 months with WSDOT, I've continued refining my inspecting, and surveying, and became a certified material tester for concrete, HMA, and density. I started out on a bridge replacement project on SR290 over the Spokane River, on which I developed the plans for a mill and overlay change order at the Intersection of SR290 (Trent Avenue) and Hamilton Street, including the detour plan. When that project wrapped up I then spent 7-weeks inspecting the grinding of I-90 through Ritzville and I finished the year doing pre-design for a multimodal complete streets project on US-395 through Chewelah, WA. The two summers before coming to WSDOT, I interned with the City of Edina, MN, completing several construction management tasks with minimal supervision. My employer commended me at the end of each summer for jumping headfirst into whatever task they gave me, most of which I completed faster than expected but just as thoroughly. I spent four and a half years at Lunds and Byerlys in the Twin Cities area. I saw numerous positive comments on my customer service skills throughout these years, leading to my promotion to store supervisor. I earned my Boy Scout Eagle rank in 2017 and learned that service comes first.
