I served as second in command of the Army Pacific Technical Control and Analysis Element (APTCAE), an Army element responsible for intelligence planning and oversight for the Pacific Theater. APTCAE core competencies include: providing regional integration and assistance for Army units entering the Pacific, planning and coordinating intelligence operations in the Pacific, and developing overall regional intelligence strategies. In this position I was able to reorganize the APTCAE structure and draft foundational documentation to officially establish the APTCAE, more effectively outline the key responsibilities of the APTCAE, and align the organization with regional intelligence strategies. I created comprehensive solutions for deployment of Army Soldiers and equipment to countries throughout the Pacific in support of operations and represented the Army in engagements with senior policymakers and foreign partners to develop regional intelligence strategies and create opportunities for future operations. Overall my greatest value added to the Army Pacific Technical Control and Analysis Element was in analysis and consultation; I conducted organizational development and a bottom-up analysis off all APTCAE core competencies to determine their viability and evaluate their efficiency then provided an action plan to the APTCAE Chief and senior Army leaders on how best to structure and operate the APTCAE.

I served as the Ground Signals Intelligence Company Executive Officer, second in command of a 90-person expeditionary Military Intelligence Company. The Ground Signals Intelligence Company is responsible for deploying throughout the Pacific region to support international exercises and answer regional strategic intelligence requirements. In this position I primarily served as a project manager with respect to Company deployment; I developed the organization’s first metrics-based organizational success assessment which I processed for Army-wide distribution and managed each deployment from pre-mission training through production of intelligence reports by establishing execution deliverables, timelines, and success metrics.Additionally I served as the Company and Battalion senior logistics officer. I planned concepts of logistical support for Company and Battalion training events, managed a $500k annual budget, redesigned logistics and supply tracking mechanisms, and fielded new intelligence equipment for the unit.

I was the senior Executive Officer for an Infantry Battalion consisting of over 750 personnel as the Headquarters and Headquarters Company Executive Officer, directly responsible for management of 200 personnel and $16m of equipment. As the senior Executive Officer I directly managed critical projects, to include the unit's transition from legacy logistics databases to a single, enterprise-wide logistics and supply management system. I developed execution timelines, deliverables, and success metrics to transition maintenance, supply, and property data for over 1,300 different equipment categories on time and without deficiencies. I also served as a mentor to junior Executive Officers on their duties and responsibilities along with other officers on logistics principles and practices. In this capacity I created organizational guidelines to clearly define and standardize operational functions for the Battalion, as well as instruct new Executive Officers on how to best approach their position. The resultant decrease in meeting times from standardized operations and shortening of new Executive Officer training periods increased overall organizational efficiency by 70%.

I served as the Forward Support Company Executive Officer, a position typically reserved for school trained Logistics Officers, in order to fill critical knowledge gaps due to my to demonstrated leadership ability and record of high performance. In this position I conducted a bottom-up analysis of organizational logistic and financial systems to identify inefficiencies and establish more rigorous tracking mechanisms, resulting in a complete redesign of organization funding, property, and procurement systems. My selection to the position occurred rapidly due to my unit's assumption of a contingency response mission, requiring the unit to position itself to deploy to any location in the world within 24 hours if necessary. In this capacity I developed processes for rapid mobilization of personnel, equipment, and supplies to meet the 24 hour deployment window. Additionally, I analyzed and created unit solutions for self sustainment in an austere environment for 30 days and designed logistic resupply plans for extended operations targeted at likely regions for deployment. Finally, I served as the Unit Movement Officer, responsible for overseeing preparation and planning for all unit equipment and personnel transport via air, sea, or land to potential deployment locations.

I performed as a platoon leader for a Heavy Weapons Company, directly responsible for the training, welfare, morale, fitness, and professional development of a 16 man Platoon as well as the maintenance and accountability of over $3.1m worth of equipment. I planned, resourced, and executed demanding, realistic training scenarios for my Platoon to conduct full-spectrum combat operations as a critical enabler for the Battalion. In 2015 my unit participated in a 30 day deployment to the Joint Readiness Training Center, a Combat Training Center designed to test units and finalize their preparation for worldwide deployment in combat operations. The training scenarios I developed and my demonstrated leadership ability led my Platoon to be selected for decisive operations in support of the larger Brigade mission, and my Platoon was lauded as the best seen by our attached evaluators.

I functioned as a Current Operations Officer for a Light Infantry Battalion consisting of over 800 Soldiers, overseeing the planning and resourcing of Battalion training and operations. I developed training scenarios to increase Battalion readiness for rapid operations in an undefined environment and managed the Battalion's execution of combined arms situational training and live fire exercises. I established the Battalion's leadership development program and recreated Battalion and Brigade mechanisms for training planning and management to produce more lethal, capable leaders.
