A trusted Board advisor, experienced corporate governance specialist, active Board trainer, expert facilitator and Leadership coach to CEOs. With deep consulting and business transformation experience, I have expertise in both public and private sectors, in the UK and abroad. My passion is Board Development in all its aspects, from enhancing in corporate governance to director development and overall board effectiveness via tailored board effectiveness reviews. The underlying objective is ensuring that board members, and thus their organisations as a whole, deliver on their potential. My time as a NED on Oman Power & Water Procurement Company brought valuable experience on influencing, as the only non-Arab on the Board, and also the challenges of being a regulated entity within an overall government structure. I bring these insights to life in my training programmes with the FT Director Programme and also my Executive Coaching with Charity CEOs via Kilfinan.I have also enjoyed my time at the Rugby Football Union for the last 7 years, as an Independent Member of the Remuneration Committee and latterly the Council Nominations Committee, helping to bring some of the learnings from business into the sporting arena where there are so many people making sacrifices for the game they love.I have extensive international experience as a Senior Partner at PWC advising Boards on people development, executive remuneration and organisational change in many countries around the world including Australia, Finland, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland and the USA.I now operate independently, working with all sizes of organisation from FTSE 100 companies to Government bodies, private equity backed entities and sports bodies. Whilst each sector has individual challenges, my focus is helping Boards to rise to the challenge of developing the most appropriate strategy, communicating the purpose and values of the organisation whilst delivering on operational excellence. The name of my business, Boardroom Dialogue, reflects the focus and encouragement for Board members to engage with each other in an open, dynamic and engaging way.Current activity focus:- exploring the culture in Boardrooms and how this aligns with purpose, values and the ethics of organisations- empowering people, especially new NEDs, via training and coaching interactions- acting as a Sounding Board for Charity CEOs at a time of stress and challenge in their careersCall to action – for more on how Boardroom Dialogue / I could help your Board, get in touch at sean@BoardroomDialogue.com
