Incident Recovery Specialist Shift LeadEy Feb 2015 - Jun 2017As Incident Recovery Specialist (Shift Lead) for Ernst and Young LLP, I have been accountable for the identification and coordination of major incidents in accordance with the firms aligned incident process. I assess incoming incidents by reviewing the information available then liaise with a wider multi-disciplinary team through conference calls or Skype to determine priority/severity level and the current impact the incident has on the business. At this point, with guidance from technical specialists the best course of action to service restoration will be undertaken to minimise disruption to clients/the business. At each stage of the process I ensure a detailed log of recovery actions is recorded and updates are communicated via defined communication channels with all escalations being appropriately documented.My role as shift lead also requires me to lead a team of 3 incident recovery specialists dealing with day to day operation of the team such as distribution of workload, communicating critical information from hand over meeting/document, administration and approval of annual leave/sickness leave/special leave, bi annual appraisals, career counselling/mentoring, signposting staff to HR/additional counselling services where appropriate and training/mentoring staff who are new to the business. This has been a challenging yet rewarding position and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with my team to achieve our mutual and individual goals. -
