Other areas of experience include aerospace, textile/non-woven, medical/PPE, and electronics recycling sectors.Daily work includes:- Performing focused learning via patent research, published manuscript review, and collaboration with academic and industry contacts to support various applications and help project teams meet technical goals.- Evaluating desired customer processes and suggesting proper equipment and/or process parameters to meet requirements.- Assisting development of project scope for quotation proposals, including obtaining equipment pricing, establishing process flow, generating design concepts via 2-D and 3-D modeling, preparing vendor specifications, and leading customer meetings to define scope and process parameters.- Providing calculations to properly size equipment, determine material throughput, optimize cycle time or line speed, and validate process parameters.- Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors, customers, and other relevant industry contacts through conference and trade show attendance, site visits, and sustained correspondence.

Focused research on nano-characterization of carbon fiber composites. Areas of proficiency include interfacial shear strength (IFSS) testing of single fiber composites using single fiber fragmentation testing (SFFT), dynamic mechanical characterization of nano-scale materials via table top UTM, and composite panel impregnation using vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM).Notable experiences inlcuded:- Assisting joint projects with Volkswagen and the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI), and other industry partners.- Presenting research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), the IACMI Summer Members Meeting, and the University of Tennessee’s EURēCA Conference.- Supporting compilation of research manuscripts via material characterization, data analysis, and literature review.

Utilized lean principles and statistical analysis to improve the quality of automotive interior components produced by Dräxlmaier, a tier one supplier of BMW's Greer, SC production facility.Major milestones included:- Identifying cost reduction potential of $200,000 per year and applying statistical reasoning to initiate engineering change request (ECR) eliminating destructive testing.- Creating an estimated $180,000 per year in cost savings by decreasing Rework Minutes per Unit, improving First Pass Yield, and eliminating two positions in a production-critical process- Implementing Quality Inspection Plans on two production lines to increase Quality Technician efficiency and improve Quality Engineer management methods.- Doubling cleaning efficiency for a production critical machine using DMAIC concepts.- Applying 8D problem solving methodology to address BMW customer complaints.- Engaging BMW and tier-2 suppliers to support and drive joint projects.(Position held intermittently January-May 2018, August-December 2018, and May-August 2019)

Assisted the Transportation Engineering Department at the University of Tennessee in developing a GPS system capable of recording speed, location, and resting times of several electric maintenance vehicles. Data collected and analyzed over 11 weeks was used to determine optimal locations for new charging stations to service the fleet.
