In the positions I have help been involved close coordination with other business departments such as Marketing and Logistics, External/Government Relations, coordination with the mining contractors for direction to achieve targets, closely manage the mine planning and development of the resource, review mining economics, production and budget preparation; SH&LC, Administration, External Resources and Community Development.Other activities and involvement with project development and infrastructure expansion, coal washing plants, inpit crushing conveying and port expansion for 40 Mt/year out-loading.I have been involved with open pit mining operations in the UK (2 years), open cast diamond mining in Botswana (4 years), underground copper & nickel production operation in Botswana (6 years), and coal mining in Indonesia (24 years), working in planning and production roles. My career can be summarised as 36 years in the mining industry; 6 years in underground production operations and 29 years in opencast mining at various positions in technical and production management.
