• Develop original public policy research projects and analyses• Evaluate public programs, develop original recommendations for improvement• Direct one or more teams, effectively multitask within and across projects, balance workloads, and increase team effectiveness• Direct research and analysis on specific topics in state and federal legislation• Identify scope of work and areas that merit investigation, develop project message(s) • Identify optimal methods for analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, develop statistical models, methods, and techniques such as sampling and estimating• Use statistical methods including logistic regressions, multivariate analysis, analyze variance, calculate confidence limits and margin of error• Interpret data, identify data limitations, biases, sampling errors, and inconsistencies• Collaborate on projects with internal and external partners• Develop and conduct online surveys• Develop interview plans, conduct interviews and focus groups with a variety of public and private stakeholders• Conduct literature reviews, synthesize large amounts of information into clear messages• Lead the development of a variety of written products and communications, including reports, memos, and presentations• Deliver oral briefings and presentations to experts and non-expert audiences, including legislative staff and committees• Track research trends and public policy and legislation • Develop and apply rigorous quality assurance measures, including testing and cleaning• Conduct specialized training modules• Expand and maintain expertise in all relevant public policy areas and serves as expert for internal and external stakeholders
