I’ve always loved building things. When I was 8 years old, I up and decided to build a raft while on vacation at my grandparents’ house, completed it on my own, and sailed it on a lake nearby.Work-me is certainly more mature than child-me–at least I strive to be–but building and creating still ignite my passion. I’ve carried this fascination with me all throughout my career. From my work in education and Japanese local government building communication across cultures, to my specialization in L&D at Mizuho Bank and Mitsubishi Corporation, building has driven my successes. Here are my favorite three things that work-me has built:*A society-impacting presentation skills program*I’m obsessed with communication, so I set out one day to fix “death by powerpoint”. My solution: a modular, experiential learning program, complete with personalized feedback. Graduates of my program have applied their skills to drive key business initiatives such as launching Japan’s first LGBTQ-friendly banking products.*A work-halving automation system*I love the training, but not so much the repetitive tasks. So I built a branching logic workflow in Excel using VBA to automate the creation of bilingual practice scripts for Japanese retail banking branches. Training prep and labor officially reduced by 55%.*An electric, crackerjack L&D team*Anyone who worked with the L&D Team at MoneyHero Group knew we had an aura, and it came from the team dynamics we cultivated: Compassion, Creativity, and Ownership. These dynamics allowed us to thrive in ambiguity and challenges, and earned recognition from our c-suite leadership. If you’re a builder like I am, connect with me and let’s get excited together about creation!
