I have worked in quite a few different professions, and because of all the combined experiences in those various professions I have a well-developed sense of compassion and humility that has led me to a social work degree. I have worked in fast food, as a Barista, in food processing plants, in production and manufacturing, residential and commercial construction both union and non-union, free-lance auto repair, handyman work, a skills trainer in residential mental health, and as direct care staff at a need's navigation center. I have earned my Journeyman's certificate through the united Brotherhood of Carpentry, an associate degree in construction technology through Mount Hood Community College, My Qualified Mental Health Associate's (QMHA) certification through experience with Trillium Family Services working ten plus years in a Secure Adolescent In Patient unit (SAIP), and most recently I am graduating Magna Cum Laude from Portland State University's Bachelor of Social Work program in June 2023. I am a lifelong learner tempered with critical reflection and seeking continuous feedback as guidance for personal growth.
