Currently, I work as a Manager for User Support Services focusing on the College of Design and the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. In this role, I manage Service Desks and our Output Room where we print large format documents for our college and other departments at the University of Oregon. Prior to this, I worked as the Educational Technologist in the College of Design and before that, I worked as a Research and Instructional Technologist also for Information Services at the University of Oregon, in Eugene, Oregon.Earlier in my career I worked as a teacher in a rural school division in Southwest Virginia, near the college town of Blacksburg, Virginia and the larger town of Roanoke. My position was as an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher, which enabled me to help teachers learn to use technology in their classroom with more confidence and skill. I was involved in VSTE, the Virginia Society for Technology in Education and served on their Board of Directors. I have presented at several conferences on the use of educational technology and have graduated with a Masters degree in Instructional Technology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.Prior to living in Virginia, I lived in Seattle, Washington and worked as the Technology Coordinator and teacher at The Little School.Specialties: Educational software evaluation and implementation; Staff development workshops and training on specific pieces of software; Instructional design for classroom teachers, fixing computer systems, and installing and licensing software.
