About Sean Stackhouse
Hello! My Name is Sean Stackhouse. I am a freelance motion designer based in Portland Oregon. I've been a designer for over 10 years, the last 6 or so I have been dedicated to 2-D motion graphics and video editing. I love design because it's a huge multifaceted field with nothing but an endless sea of problems to solve. It's given me the opportunity over the years to dip my toe or jump headlong into it's various branches and tributaries. I love designing and drawing and animating and editing and writing and directing and I especially love how all of them come together to give form to the little sparks of an idea that come from whatever magical realm creatives have access to in their wonderful brains.Working with other explorers and problem solvers in the creative wilds is my favorite thing about this industry. I've worked with a lot of awesome, creative people over the years and I've learned that the first step of any successful project is a strong team starting down a path on the same page.Every corner of the design industry I have found myself in is made better by process. period. full stop. I looooove process. I pride myself on working fast and efficiently and that is all thanks to my full dedication to always refining my process. That doesn't always mean adding more and more and more layers of process, sometimes you need less for things to go smoothly. Taking into account the timeframe, the stakeholders, the budget all comes down to having a plan and getting on as close to the same page as possible. I've spent 12 years working in agencies and I learned a lot of super valuable stuff from a lot of super talented people. I am super excited to find new creative partnerships to apply all the awesome lessons that I've learned from all the awesome people I've worked with so far in my career.
