● Took on program management duties for Alion DDG-1000 contract, including weekly health assessment reports, estimating monthly spend plans, and general contract maintenance.● Assisted the DDG-1000 Deputy Ship Design Manager with solving damage control related issues in preparation for delivery of the first ship of the class● Wrote a program to give a ROM estimate of manpower required for a naval combatant based on a database of similar ships using senior manpower experts' knowledge/input.

● Led small and medium size teams in the geometric modeling and system logic development of vulnerability and recoverability simulation models. In one case, led a team of six senior engineers, in building a detail design vulnerability model. Additionally, new components of the vulnerability model which had never been used in previous designs were built in order to increase model fidelity and test usefulness in future models. Due to customer’s request to accelerate the schedule, the project was completed more than 30% faster than usual.● Analyzed results of vulnerability simulations to identify recommendations to improve combatant and auxiliary naval vessels at basic and detail design stages. Recommendations accepted by the customer were found to increase crew survival and the ship’s ability to continue fight or return to port after a simulated threat impact.● Programmed, ran, and analyzed results of fire simulations as a result of accidental or threat induced fires on board combatant and auxiliary naval vessels. Programmed detailed crew actions in the case of a specific threat impact to determine system impact, system recoverability, and timing of damage control actions (including fire extinguishment).● Developed a comprehensive understanding of all primary and auxiliary support equipment needed in order for a naval vessel to perform its required missions.● Documented lessons learned from new components included in vulnerability models as well as model building best-practices to save time when building subsequent vulnerability models.● Developed numerous Visual Basic macros to improve efficiency of building and analyzing current and future vulnerability models.● Trained newly-hired engineers how to: use vulnerability software; model geometry of a vulnerability model; develop and program vulnerability model system logic; and run, debug, and analyze vulnerability model results. Trained senior engineers and customers on how to use vulnerability software.
