I am a qualified accountant with 20+ years of experience. I worked with RTE for 6 years from 1991 in Finance and led the finance team in the Radio Division. Joining Mater Private Healthcare group in 1997 as Financial Controller, I led the finance function together with delivering added value through generating efficiencies in processes and customising workflows and rosters. Significant long-term shareholder value was also delivered through renegotiation of large procurement contracts and negotiation with Private Health Insurers. I took over the role of Finance Director in Mater Private and joined the board in 2006 which led the rapid development and expansion with the opening of two PPP projects with public hospital groups in both Dublin and Limerick.In 2007, following the successful sale of the group to a Capvest, a UK based Private Equity fund, I took over the role of Commercial Director. While remaining on the Board I took responsibility for delivering: - -the Strategic Growth Plan which delivered expansion of services in Dublin. -the acquisition of a private hospital in Cork, and project managed the commissioning and its transition to a new facility. -management of a number of large-scale capital projects.-a new cancer centre PPP with Clatterbridge, UK. -a number of outreach clinics to support referrals to the treatment centres. During this period, I was involved in a number of due diligence processes and gained a valuable insight into the business model, operations, and facilities of many healthcare facilities in Ireland and the UK.Since the successful sale by Capvest of the Mater Private Group in 2017, I moved to set up my own business, Peakmore Ltd, which advises a number of leading public and private providers of acute and long-term care. Work to date has included M&A assessment, efficiency projects, strategic business reviews, healthcare business appraisal, financial modelling, cost reduction programmes and healthcare project management. I have the ability to apply hands-on healthcare operational experience to deliver concise assessment and provide recommendations and solutions that are aligned to the strategy of the client.
