Provides fabrication and design support of complete prototype automotive seats, fixtures, and modifications to existing parts and assemblies. This is to validate new product development as well as to support programs already in production. Facilities use includes a wood shop, machine shop, welding room, paint booth, and 3D printer lab. For new product development existing seat frames are modified as needed to satisfy new forms by cutting and welding. Likewise, plastics components are modified by cutting and welding. The 3D printers in use include Stratasys 450 FDM and Elegoo Saturn DLP machines. Catia was used to design fixtures and assemblies, and to modify parts for 3D printing to accommodate maximum volume requirements.

Designed a range of cutting tools including drill bits, end mills, and profile cutters for customers in the Automotive, Aerospace, and Fluid Power industries. Cutting tool designs were created using ME10 (a 2D program) or for more complex geometries, Pro Engineer. Cutting tools were designed specific to the customer’s application and were either solid carbide, diamond inserts brazed to carbide, or diamond inserts brazed to steel. Document creation included customer design approval drawings, supplier component drawings, production process, and finished product labeling. Tolerances, while mostly provided by the customer did on occasion need to be assessed during the process of design. GD&T was employed mostly to control runout, but also to control profile as needed.

Designed and oversaw manufacturing and assembly of all enclosures and mounting strategies for Tecat's line of wireless telemetry products. Designs were created using Autodesk Inventor and were a mix of standard product and full custom. Manufacturing was done mostly via SLS 3D printing or machining depending on what method best suited each application. Because the Tecat wireless system is so well suited to the needs of research and development, extreme environmental factors and restrictive, oddly contoured bounding areas often had to be taken into consideration. For instance, the standard shaft mount enclosures are designed and tested to spin up to 16,000 RPM. Also oversaw CAD design aspects of intern projects.

Purchase parts likewise required inspection documentation in order to ensure that incoming parts were dimensionally correct.
