Responsible for product line P&L including strategy, product development, business development, sales & marketing and project delivery.

Process engineer supporting water & wastewater projects in roles such as design manager, construction project engineer, pilot plant engineer and consultant with scope ranging from preliminary planning studies through to construction and commissioning. Technical areas of focus included odour control and water reuse. Select major assignments listed separately below.

Oyu Tolgoi is a USD $7B copper / gold project being developed by Rio Tinto and the Mongolian Government. CH2M HILL was engaged to supply specialist resources for the Commissioning of Infrastructure components, including Central Heating Plant, Raw Water Supply System, Water Treatment and Bottling Plant, Waste Management Centre, Explosives Production Facility, Major Buildings, Fire Systems and Airport. Responsibilities included:- Development of commissioning plans, management of equipment vendors, troubleshooting of commissioning tasks and training of operations personnel.- Managing a team of both Mongolian and expat personnel through all stages of commissioning.- Identifying commissioning team equipment and personnel requirements and development of budgets and schedules.- Coordinating the handover process from construction to commissioning and commissioning to operations.- Facilitation of HAZOP Studies and involvement in other process and hazard risk reviews.

Sydney Water Corporation engaged CH2M HILL to provide a detailed design for the upgrade of the Odour Control Facilities at Cronulla WWTP. Responsibilities as Design Manager included:- On time delivery of 160 detailed design drawings and associated documents;- Management of design team resources in Australia and the US;- Consultation with client representatives; - Detailed design of the foul air treatment facilities including 4 biotrickling filters, fans, ancillary equipment and associated ductwork.

The Hunter Treatment Alliance team consisted of AbiGroup, CH2M Hill and Hunter Water Corporation, with the goal to provide $200M in Wastewater Treatment improvements to the Hunter Region. One of these projects was the $30M Stage 2 upgrade to the Burwood Beach WWTW, encompassing new aeration and clarification capacity and improved RAS, screenings and grit processing capabilities. Responsibilities included:- Developing and reviewing technical documentation for major procurement tender packages;- Coordination of the design resources and assisting with design management as required;- Reviewing tender submittals and provide recommendations for award;- Cost control for the mechanical components of the $30M upgrade;- Advising on and implementing site-based design adjustments, and managing more significant modifications / changes with the design teams though the Request For Information (RFI) system;- Contract management of the major mechanical procurement packages and subcontractors;- Contributing to the commissioning planning and execution;- Fulfilling the role of acting construction manager when required;- Involvement in project development for major variations, including ABF tower upgrade;

The Luggage Point Alliance team consisted of CH2M HILL, Laing O'Rourke and the Queensland State Government. Responsibilities of the Pilot Plant Engineer included:- Undertaking pilot plant trials at the Luggage Point Advanced Water Treatment Plant to determine the appropriate technology to be used for treatment of the microfiltration backwash. - Development of the piloting plan and design of pilot plant modifications.- Procurement of new components for pilot trials and co-ordination of resources required to modify the existing pilot plant. - Undertaking of pilot trials including all aspects of operation and monitoring of the pilot plant.- Reporting on results of pilot trials to the Alliance management to provide input to the technology chosen for the $20M upgrade of the existing facility.

The Gippsland Water Factory was an alliance style project consisting of CH2M HILL, Gippsland Water, Parsons Brinkerhoff and Transfield Services. The project won the Gold Banksia Award. Responsibilities as Work Area Team Lead included:- Determination of odour control collection and treatment requirements and development of preliminary designs.- Lead the detailed design for the $8M odour control works including managing senior design engineers, coordinating tender reviews, responding to RFI's and providing direction to the construction and installation teams.- Management of the technical aspects of the odour control procurement contracts.- Preparation and /or review of commissioning documentation and review of commissioning results.

Responsibilities included:• Ensuring the successful operation of the raw water and wastewater systems for the ZED (Zero liquid Effluent Discharge) integrated pulp and paper mill.• Undertaking process optimisation projects, mostly for the water and chemical systems.• Assisting with shutdown planning and co-ordination.• Providing process engineering input to daily production planning.• Updating and management of the environmental monitoring program and ISO 14001 certification.• Significant focus on odour management projects including condensate air stripper column pilot trials, recovery boiler optimisation, ambient air monitoring and odour complaints investigation.

Full time summer internship working on water optimization projects and DAF pilot trials. Continued part time completing my undergraduate thesis on Water Pinch Analysis in a recycled paper mill.

Pilot plant project targeting greenhouse gas mitigation and carbon sequestration from combustion sources using chlorella microalgae. Scaled up project from agar plate samples to 200 Litre airlift bioreactor.
