From logging to the law office…it’s been a wild ride. Growing up in rural Washington, we used to joke you either work in the timber industry, or commute to fancy law office in the big city. I have been blessed to do both. As I worked myself through college by working in a sawmill and in the woods setting chokers, I learned two main lessons. One, how to work hard from some of the hardest working men on the planet. And two, life is fragile. We had one fatality and several near-death workplace accidents. I felt powerless to help the families of my friends that had passed or been injured. In my early 20s, it was a wakeup call to have my affairs in order for my young family at the time. After years in the mortgage and real estate industry, I was offered a position to head up API Law based in Chandler, Arizona.
