Project/Supply Chain Manager
At Blue Monkey, my work focused on strategy and execution of the supply chain, logistics, inventory planning, purchasing and international import/export processes from 7-10 overseas suppliers. I am responsible for managing inventory across 5 North American 3PL warehouses, creating and implementing new, streamlined SOPs, and daily monitoring of product movement. Most notably in my time here, I created and implemented inventory management systems, led the move into 2 more efficient warehouse locations and created new purchase order and cross border documents. I provide and analyze demand planning reports to ownership which are used to make purchasing/procurement decisions. I have also managed and claimed for duty refunds from the CBSA and created a food safety document allowing the company to apply for their CFIA Safe Food for Canadians License. These duties were completed while training and subsequently supervising a junior employee. These process improvements resulted in time savings and total savings to the company of $20,000+.
Operations Coordinator
In this role, I researched potential new products, developed new formulas for trial, created and managed testing programs and researched the technical aspects surrounding the supply and distribution of these products (i.e. regulations for customs and border crossing of supplements). I also established new supply chains for future products, sourced and maintained vendors within the supply chain, managed production runs and associated logistics. As the administrative assistant, I processed payroll for 175 employees across three corporations, prepared Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax claims and bank reconciliations as well as monitoring the pay equity program. I was also a laboratory technician, with my duties following AATCC & CATCC standard test methods (dimensional stability tests, pilling & abrasion testing, crock meter testing, instrom stretch testing and width & yield verification). I was also responsible for the management of order shipments and packing as I ensured all orders were picked, packed, and shipped according to order specifications.
