Responsible for developing backend services that power the OfferUp mobile apps and website. Working mostly with Java, Python, Django, AWS, Docker, DynamoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL. Implemented numerous features, services, and internal tools, including a Payments backend in Python, Billing service in Java, and self-serve dev environments with AWS, Docker, and Ansible. Also was the technical lead on redesigning and implementing OfferUp's modern Catalog data plane and control plane as part of a larger effort to deprecate OfferUp's original Monolithic backend services.

Implemented telemetry dashboards for Word analytics using SQL, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Excel BI (Power Pivot, Power View, O365, etc.), COSMOS, and services acquired with Yammer that enabled feature crews and managers to monitor Word KPIs build-over-build and make informed decisions on whether or not a given build was shippable.Coordinated a complete overhaul of Word 16’s logging pipeline which expanded the Word team’s ability to collect, process, and aggregate logging from Word clients across all platforms into COSMOS, Microsoft’s NoSQL big data store.Implemented functional prototypes for a potential overhaul of Word’s Blogging feature using C# and SketchFlow.Created an internal C# app for monitoring the memory consumption of Word clients which resulted in more memory-related bugs being detected and fixed for Word 2013.Shipped over 150 targeted bug fixes to customers for Word and Publisher. Worked with Dev Leads, Test Leads, Team Managers, and customer reps to triage incoming bugs/DCRs, communicate with customers, represent potential fixes in-person at cross-group triage, meet strict deadlines, and coordinate the overall sustaining process across the team.Drove interoperability documentation efforts for OpenXML (ISO 29500), Word’s binary file format (MS-DOC), and Word’s extensions to OpenXML (MS-DOCX).Drove design and implementation for multiple features in Word 2010, Word 2013, Word 16, and a TBA product

Recruited 9 software developers, designers, artists, and business developers for a game development startup. Drove project-planning activities that landed the team on a single high-potential game concept that we all believed in.Developed a technical prototype using C++ and Ogre3D, an open source graphics framework. Wrote and pitched TribeMind’s business plan at RIT’s annual business plan competition in 2007 and won 1st place.
