CurrentPCH offers the world’s largest and most widely-distributed anycast network, presently consisting of server clusters at more than 300 Internet exchanges on six continents. It is the most trusted DNS network, providing the domain name service for the top-level domains of 137 national governments and five regional governments; the gov.cc domains of 41 nations, and the mil.cc domains of 18 nations. This exceeds by tenfold the next largest providers. This can be compared with operators of consumer-grade services which were notably cited by the OECD for falling to two nines of reliability, or more than twelve hours of downtime in an average year. PCH leads the market in protecting both the authenticity and confidentiality of DNS data, employing several mechanisms to collapse the attack surface between authoritative and recursive resolvers which is normally targeted by man-in-the-middle attacks. PCH operates the only significant authoritative service which is collocated back-to-back at every site with a major recursive resolver service (Quad9), interconnected across a hypervisor backplane, completely eliminating this vulnerability. PCH is also the only provider of Adaptive DNS services.
