I love to take a concept, an idea or a solution to a problem and bring it through to see the real-world results. I started out by creating these solutions myself; I have always been data-driven when it comes to planning and managing complexity, and have in the past taken Excel to areas it should never go...but I always preferred to see the bigger picture and work with a team, which makes Programme Management an ideal fit.My technical background and master's in Engineering allow me to quickly understand complex issues and key risks, but it is my more recent training and experience in this area that has helped me build the softer skills that are a vital part of running a successful portfolio of projects in a challenging environment. I love to bring people on board, hear their points of view and use their experience, passion or even their dissensions to pull together something that works. I have used this to drive improvement throughout the places I have worked and have brought through everything from multi-million pound development projects to the implementation of completely new business systems and processes.My specialities include:- Effective Communication: Bringing the right information to the correct people at the appropriate time. - Continuous Learning: Quickly picking up new ideas and always exploring alternative methods and theories.- Tech: Implementing new tools and systems to help us work effectively, without using tech for tech's sake. I am also adept at and experienced in training people in the use of new systems.- Psychology: No project happens without people, and they are always the trickiest and most interesting aspect. The psychological side of work is something I'm interested in and am always looking to develop my understanding further.
