Healthcare has always played an important part in my life. Throughout my undergraduate career at the University of Kentucky, I planned on attending medical school and becoming a primary care physician. However, after working in the emergency department, I knew healthcare administration was much better suited for me. This influenced me to continue my education at the University of Missouri – Columbia to pursue my Master in Healthcare Administration. I enjoyed learning about the daily operations and quality improvement projects that go into making a health system run efficiently. Having various jobs throughout healthcare, as well as, serving as an intern at Lake Regional Health System, I have learned a great deal about the healthcare system. My experiences have enabled me to strive in demanding, team-oriented environments while following established procedures and ensure all patient and physician expectations are exceeded. I am certain that my motivation, academic experience, administrative expertise and professional demeanor will serve me well in a career in healthcare administration.
