A Trip Leader at Indiana University Outdoor Adventures is in charge of planning, organizing, and carrying out the SPH-W courses as well as Adventure Trips. An Associate Instructor for the Wilderness First Responder course is responsible for assisting the lead instructor in maintaining the efficiency and organization of the course. This oftentimes involves teaching lectures, assisting during mock scenarios, creating lesson plans, developing quizzes, holding office hours, and assisting the students whenever necessary. - Taught lectures covering topics including: Head Trauma, Cardiothoracic Trauma, Altitude Illness, Diabetes, Heat Emergencies, Fractures, and more. - Constructed various teaching scenarios to enrich and expand upon material learned in the classroom. - Directly aided with over 80 hours of both classroom and hand-on instruction

Members of the Desk Staff at Hoosier Heights are the life and blood of the climbing gym. During most shifts, a desk staff member will be tasked with maintaining the operational efficiency of the gym, instructing new and experienced climbers, designing and implementing new product displays, and selling new products or services while constantly presenting themselves as cheery and knowledgeable. - Devised and constructed several effective and eye-catching product displays- Presided over various projects around the gym including: construction, cleanup and painting- Engaged members of the climbing community to participate in competitions and to purchase new services/products.

I'm spending my gap year as an Alumni Service Corps member in the Community Service department at Brebeuf Jesuit. I serve many roles, including Assistant Community Service Director, Teacher, Mentor, El Salvador Immersion Trip Leader, and subsitute for the Spanish and Science departments. I have been admitted to medical school for the Fall of 2018.

As my time at VIM has grown, so have my responsibilities. I began as simple desk staff, helping with clerical activities around the clinic and aiding with Spanish translation. I currently aid with a weekly outreach clinic at the Shalom Community Center, a homeless day-shelter in Bloomington, IN and most recently have taken responsibilities as an intake assistant. In addition, I've began work as a "Health Promoter" in charge of guiding several patients through a yearlong obesity reduction program. Intake Assistant: - Assist with all intake requirements, including vitals, labs, initial patient interview, and medication consultations. Health Promoter:- Schedule appointments with various providers, maintain biweekly communication, and serve in a case-worker role for patients enrolled in an obesity reduction program. Outreach Clinic Assistant:- Assist the Nurse Practitioner with vitals, patient interviews, and treatment plan development for various homeless clients.

An associate at Yo Joy Frozen Yogurt keeps the store running smoothly. In this position, I was the first point of contact for customers. Not only did associates have to posses excellent communication and sales skills, but we were also tasked with maintaining the day-to-day operations of the shop, including food preparation, cleaning, scheduling, and general shop organization. -Indulged customers and sold to their needs on a daily basis.-Sustained the outstanding cleanliness of the shop.-Cultivated a culture of happiness, efficiency and determination among co-workers.
