About Sean Costello

I focus on algorithms for control, signal processing and robotics. For example, I am proud to have played a key role in developing Leica Geosystems Semi-Automatic Excavator system.I like to sweat the small details: reliability, maintainability and elegance are just as important as performance.At the same time, my final goal is always the entire system - so in every project I keep the overall system in the center of consideration and envisage how all components fit together. Doing that for a mix of algorithms, complex calibration procedures, SW and HW, third-party suppliers has been a real jigsaw puzzle at Hexagon.I have really enjoyed working with, leading, and managing people. When the going gets tough, personal relationships make or break a project. I am proud to have always pulled through with the multinational and multilocational teams I worked in.
