If there isn't a real incentive to improve an existing product, then we'll improve on the next product, every time, whenever feasible. Sometimes improvement cannot be achieved until a product has been in customer's hands for some time across many production cycles. Often the improvement is in manufacturing processes or in design for manufacturability.My greatest issue is the desire to always improve making it hard to establish a stopping point. I've learned to do so, but it is somewhere that team members help me manage as well. I'm also insatiably curious which means I like to talk and listen a lot about just about any subject, which can lead to a love or hate impression of me and it's something I strive to manage for better team integration.

Worked autonomously with time tracking and achieved completion of set contract work in roughly half the hours predicted by original engineering estimates at a higher quality than requested, which saved the company a significant amount of project cost as well as reduced future costs and work.

Extensive mechanical design and component selection/implementation on pulley type CVTs. From start to finish, work with fabrication shops and in house resources to produce custom components at low cost, high speed, and beyond minimum acceptable quality for projects. Generation of unique and patentable IP for new electric motor and vehicle transmission technologies, specifically in CVTs and hybrid vehicle optimized transmissions. Modification of existing production CVT for customer with new and unique applications, design and setup of testing dynomometer for said CVT, and final design for prototype delivery to customer. Particular focus on medium and heavy duty CVTs of 700+Nm and 350+kW capacities, which do not currently exist in market. -
