I am a passionate and creative problem solver driven to solve technical problems with novel ideas. For the past 8 years, I have been a Research and Development Engineer for a company grossing over $100 million in sales annually. In this role, I have developed award winning products and patented technologies which have been extremely well received by our customers. I have a proven track record of developing new and innovative products to enhance the experience of our end users while keeping manufacturability and cost in mind. I became a Mechanical Engineer because of the broad base of technical problems which require creativity and out of the box thinking to solve, which is where I thrive. In college at Georgia Tech, I avoided non-engineering free electives instead choosing to enroll in engineering electives, including several masters level courses in Acoustics and Mechatronics. While my schooling and experience had given be a depth of knowledge in Acoustics and Sonar, I have a breath of knowledge that spans many other areas. As a Research and Development engineer, I am responsible for preliminary CAD modeling and prototype part development, material selection, production process selection and the design guidelines that are required for different production operations. Because of the specialized knowledge required for our products, I often work closely with the production and test engineers to develop work instructions, assembly fixtures, and test sets and qualifications. I have an insatiable appetite for knowledge and enjoy learning new things and creating new knowledge to solve problems.
