I am a sophomore in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I am working towards majoring in supply chain management with a collateral in business analytics. I have a competitive edge but am also very sociable and relatable. This has grounded my foundation in leadership and problem solving, which I use every day in my job as a resident assistant. As a resident assistant I oversee a floor of fifty-four residents in a hall of over one thousand. I am approachable and helpful with solutions in mind when residents approach me but am also able to command respect and establish myself as a figurehead in my role as a staff member. I am also in charge of formulating programs that boost morale and encourage unity and friendship among the residents and myself.My business interests include understanding and fixing supply chain issues that can cause inefficiencies and using my talents as a leader and competitor to better myself and those around me. I have also gained experience with communication and research that have prepared me to pursue a career in supply chain management. For example, in supply chain scholars of distinction we experimented with the bull whip effect and how to better communicate to be more efficient and prevent overstocking. My career goal after college is to be a leader in the supply chain management field and make my mark on the industry.
