Thanks to the amazing opportunity given to me by government funding during the pandemic, Service Plus Aquatics(SPA) was open to hiring me as a student in a laborer/apprentice role for the summer. For SPA I was instructed to arrive at one of their many sites each morning(such as the Art Shoppe Lofts located in central Toronto), check-in with my Foreman that day and from there I would receive my daily tasks, which would be assisting our site crew in hitting the weekly targets. I then was briefly instructed in areas necessary and left to independently complete those tasks to the high overall standard set by the owner, and the companies point of differentiation from the competition. This was also my first true workforce experience so the lesson I learned had to be learned quickly and therefore are lessons I now I will now hold at the innermost core of my work ethic.
