- Worked in teams of three to six to design medical products for small startups to Fortune 500 companies.- Collaborated with industrial designers to realize products’ desired form and function while maintaining manufacturability.- Completed projects include wearable sensor, patch pump, laparoscopic in situ metal forming, bracket for optical tool, peristaltic pump for neuro-ablation system, tissue holding in advanced organ transportation device, and concepts for arthroscopic surgical tools.- Created complex CAD databases in ProE and SolidWorks using master modeling, surfacing, and multi-body techniques. Databases used for conceptualization, prototyping, and transfer to manufacture. - Built prototypes throughout design processes. Started with initial proof of concept prototypes and moved to mechanical breadboards, and finally alpha builds.- Performed critical to function tolerance analysis on complex medical assemblies: analyses are used throughout design process to address potential manufacturing issues.- Served as primary engineering resource on wearable medical sensor. Project included surface modeling, electronics packaging, design for injection molding, and tolerance analysis.- Designed mechanism used in disposable pharmaceutical patch pump. Mechanism gave user feedback on drug delivery, as well as completing pumping action, and shutting off device. Multiple motion simulations were performed and validated by physical testing.- Wrote budget tracking macro to transfer information from company time tracking database into client presentable format.- Led internal co-op hiring team. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and managing co-ops (6 month engineering internships).
