About Sean Frisbee
I’m naturally passionate about leading people and helping organizations thrive, especially when they’ve stalled. I appreciate a challenge, so envisioning a future beyond expectations and building the team, strategic plan, and culture to execute that vision really jazz me up! Know your job, work together, and no surprises are my three rules for success; coupled with a “can do” attitude and a clear strategic plan, I’m a fan of do-groups, not work-groups, do-tanks, not think-tanks. I’m an engineer, so data is my friend, and I drive toward data-driven decision-making. During my military career, I developed my leadership skills and learned how to lead large organizations ($4 billion/yr F-22 stealth fighter program) and -- while working in the private sector -- I rounded out my business skills and learned how to lead small ones too ($4 million/yr 501.c.3 non-profit). My experiences in both the public and private sector, a penchant for entrepreneurial problem solving, and a desire to secure a better tomorrow for my fellow Mountaineers put me in a prime position to spearhead recovery efforts centered on job growth and economic expansion throughout the state. I’ve experienced my share of failure too in start-up businesses, and this has only taught me to learn from my mistakes, leveraging them to my advantage in the future. I’m eager to shift focus towards economic development in Appalachia. Now is the perfect time for West Virginia to play a more significant role in the federal defense marketplace by accelerating innovation and developing technology/solutions through strategic partnerships with government, industry, and academia. I hope to capitalize on my experience in order to give back and be part of that bright future. If I can help you achieve success in your current ventures, feel free to connect with me and let’s see what we can do together.

IES Global makes hostile environment and intense event data acquisition systems. IES gauges are used miles beneath the surface of the earth where they must endure temperatures in excess of 300F, more than 20,000 g’s of mechanical shock, and pressures of up to 30,000 pounds per square inch. IES data recorders are used in projectile testing where instrumentation must survive 50,000 g’s. Systems that must meet such rigorous demands require what IES calls ‘extreme engineering’ and with more than 27 years of experience under our belts, we’re especially good at it.
