Prepared pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery materials in labor rights litigation concerning collective bargaining, tenure, campaign finance, and fair-share fees. Produced legal memoranda, internal guidance, and amicus briefs on the civil and constitutional rights of public school educators and students, especially immigrants’ rights, political rights, and freedom from discrimination on the basis of race, disability, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.

Assisted in writing amicus and appellate briefs on discrete issues under the National Labor Relations Act. Researched and drafted legal memoranda on developing topics in worker representation, including joint-employer standards and legal strategies for innovative organizing campaigns.

Built a prospective case through document review, field work, and legal research against a transnational corporation that was violating the rights of indigenous communities in the Amazon. Presented the conclusions of my investigation to indigenous community leaders. Examined questions of U.S. law to assist an amicus curiae before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

Researched and drafted a submission to the Department of Labor’s Office of Trade and Labor Affairs concerning a foreign State’s violation of its Fair Trade Agreement with the United States. Wrote legal memoranda on corporate liability under the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act and Alien Tort Statute for profiting from forced labor in the Uzbek cotton industry. Advocated for the rights of labor leaders who were under threat of anti-labor violence.

Led workers and community members in campaigns to unionize, raise wages, and increase political power. Coordinated committees to discuss, plan, and execute actions and events. Trained workers to manage and lead organizing efforts in their workplace and neighborhoods. Built coalitions with partner organizations to strengthen political support for advocacy goals.

Created an after-school center offering educational programs to youth living in poverty. Designed and taught English classes for two proficiency levels. Developed and administered an entrepreneurship course composed of weekly seminars, work experience, and practical applications of business skills. Formed a cooperative café with three student-workers.
