About Sean M. Hetrick
I’ve been fascinated by technology for as long as I can remember, most specifically with computers. I’ve always been interested in how computers work under the covers, and behind the scenes. This fascination has served me well as a systems administrator. As an IT department of one while working for Powertech (USA) I had to understand, design, and maintain everything from the physical network, to the operating systems on the servers, to the digital certificates used to secure the content on the company SharePoint site.My fascination with the inner workings of computers is likely also the reason I get so much satisfaction in finding new ways to automate common processes, getting the computer to perform tedious and repetitive tasks with minimal or no human interaction. I was able to use this to great advantage while working for Carmel Partners, using System Center Configuration Manager, PowerShell scripts, and other tools to streamline and automate operating system installs and software deployments. Developing the ability to install software on remote computers with less than a handful of mouse clicks rather than walking through the entire process manually saved the support team countless hours alone. As a natural perfectionist I also excel at developing consistent and predictable designs, be they for Active Directory security models, Windows Group Policy, the creation of operating system images, or network address schemes. I find this to be a significant asset, as a consistent and well thought out design naturally lends itself to easy automation. This attention to detail is also a useful trait when creating documentation.I may be contacted at: sean.hetrick@gmail.com
