I manage and oversee a team who handle all of the purchasing for the St. Louis and Kansas City offices. I monitor inventory levels and adjust purchases as necessary. I conduct periodic cycle counts to identity inventory discrepancies, coordinate year-end inventory, and collaborate with production to assess and closely monitor stock levels to ensure adequate inventory is available to fulfill customer needs. Invoices are reviewed and approved to ensure vendor billing is aligned with proper discounts. Also, I review vendor prices to ensure optimal buying benefit for our company. Day to day communication with my team, vendors, and project managers to ensure projects are progressing, accurate, and aligned with estimated cost and completion dates. I attend bi-weekly meetings to collaborate with managers, team leaders, and vice presidents of the company. In those meetings, we give updates, work together to plan long term and strategize ways to improve our current performance by identifying problems.

The accounting system used to track revenues and expenses was cluttered and in need of an update. I was in charge of creating a more efficient system in Excel that produced management’s desired reporting results in a more user-friendly and streamlined way. The result was a system that had the ability to produce information quickly and accurately without unnecessary data present. I also assisted in the year-end tax preparation by generating reports of all expenses by category and assisting management with the depreciation schedule of company assets. Additionally, I maintained the accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely payments, generated monthly billing reports, and analyzed them for discrepancies and past due amounts. I also assisted in updating the student database by entering new student information and updating current student’s information to ensure proper class structure.
