After HPE acquired Cray my responsibilities shifted from focusing primarily at a lower level to architecting and implementing services in our new cloud-based management offering. These services ranged from cloud-native versions of daemons we used to have relating to the collection of telemetry to much higher level Kubernetes operators built to allow other services to dynamically scale out by offloading potentially hundreds of thousands of requests to a worker pool of pods.More recently my primary responsibilities have shifted to supporting the management infrastructure in any way possible. This includes automation around the lifecycle events of our management nodes (shutdown/reboot/rebuild/etc.), redesigning our hardware inventory processes to be fully automatic and support dynamic changes as they occur, and generally supporting the boot process of all node types from PXE to cloud-init to cluster entry.Almost all code was written in Go or Python with a very minimal amount using C++.

Developed software throughout the entire vertical slice of the supercomputing product. Most notably was responsible for the design and implementation of controller level daemons that would collect system level metrics and push those to the management system for storage and analysis. Also primarily responsible for the implementation and steady function of environmental data collection facilities in the management system including services that would capture the data sent from the controllers and persist it into a time-series database in native binary format for extreme insert speed.Almost all of this work was done with C/C++ and Python.
