SafetyNL, formerly the Newfoundland & Labrador Safety Council, has been providing health and safety services across the province for over 70 years. We are a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting health and safety at work, home, and play. SafetyNL is proud to be aligned with Safety Services Canada (SSC), a results-based organization dedicated to making our country safer and healthier. We strive to achieve excellence in offering instruction and mentoring in coordinated and comprehensive ventures that have health and safety as core values. We offer nationally certified motorcycle, off-road, and driver training, as well as a full suite of occupational health and safety courses. We partner with many agencies for safety in the community through our participation in and support of such initiatives as Students Against Drinking and Driving (SADD), the Lids for Kids bicycle safety program, Operation Lifesaver, and snowmobile/ATV/UTV safety training. Our Board of Directors is comprised of volunteers dedicated to SafetyNL being a trailblazer in the implementation of processes that will cultivate a culture of safety within the province.

We help companies navigate from start to finish through bureaucratic complexities and the dynamic world of community and stakeholder relations. We help companies access government funding for business development and deliver strategies that achieve success with measurable results.

Kelly Communications provides a range of public relations and communications management services including strategic communications planning, issues and reputations management, crisis communications, stakeholder relations, media relations, events planning, group facilitation, and consultations.Kelly Communications also provides workshops and seminars in media relations, spokesperson skills development and PR for not for profits.

Development and execution of a strategic marketing plan for the company.

Review of the 2002 Provincial Solid Waste Management Strategy

Provide strategic communications advice to the Clerk of the Executive Council and Secretary to Cabinet. Develop and implement strategies to improve government public communications and issues management. Improve the development of communications plans.

Oversaw public relations for the C-NLOPB with emphasis on strategic communications, media relations, government relations and stakeholder relations. Advise the chair and CEO on public relations and communications management. Lead the C-NLOPB’s crisis communications response and participate in issues management as part of the senior management team.

Manage the public relations activities of the Department. Also had responsibility for communications within the Emergency Measures Organization (EMO), which was a branch of the department. This included communications during the 9-11 Crisis in the US and Hurricane Gabriel.
