As a Marketing Major at Indiana University, I aspire to make a difference in the world by using my leadership, resilience, and personability skills. Leadership: In high school, I was the head of our school’s “Blue Crew” in charge of promoting any and all school-related events. I made daily announcements over the intercom, and I even ran our Instagram page which was home to over 1000 followers. I think our most significant achievement was producing and selling 500 Blue Crew shirts in less than a week. Resilience: Going into freshman year, I found out I had a tumor in my right knee and was told I may never play sports again. Did I let two surgeries, being on crutches for three months, and a year of physical therapy stop me? Absolutely not. I was a captain for our senior basketball team which made it to the elite eight. Personable: During my senior year of high school, I was asked to give a speech advocating our annual school blood drive. I was not only met with a booming standing ovation, but my small school of 650 students donated the most blood out of any high school in Illinois.
