System Engineer
CurrentProvide systems engineering and testing support to the External Interface Test (EIT) team with over 7 years of experience in networking, system troubleshooting, software testing, technical documentation production, and team training. Test, maintain, and provide software testing support for various Windows, Linux, and Red Hat Linux operating systems. As the External Interface Test (EIT) Engineer, write test plans, test different transmissions and perform log analysis, and evaluate multiple versions of a Cyber Security suite and Information Assurance (IA) versions resulting in the correction of software level issues before product delivery. Conduct requirements gathering and stay up to date with DoD standards and emerging software specification documentation to ensure all defined security protocols are in accordance with said standards. Write test reports to deliver to stakeholders and complete risk analysis to deliver within test report upon findings of security gaps and performance metrics. Deploy a suite of servers and Cisco switches and routers used to conduct laboratory testing. Conduct weekly configuration of TCP/IP settings, software builds, and network switch configurations including IP routing. Retain configuration management of all software, hardware, and firmware held in inventory. Responsible for all server and test equipment troubleshooting and disaster recovery. Provide cost-effective solutions to customer on new and emerging technologies to enhance productivity of laboratory testing and productivity. Maintain a record materials, parts, and components for both hardware lab and parts pending issue to customers. Develop a list of required test and operational support equipment that are required for test, operation, and common repairs of the system. Develop and maintain Configuration Management tracking lists based on the configuration and intended operation of the system and modify as required based on expected operation duration.
