At Folsom Custom Skis, my role as an intern focuses on improving the performance and durability of high-end sports equipment. The original prompt involved creating innovative solutions for materials testing and design challenges, aiming to enhance the reliability and functionality of custom-built skis.To address the challenges presented to us by our clients, I worked hands-on in the machine shop, employing precision tools and testing procedures to evaluate material properties under various conditions. I contributed to iterative design processes by developing prototypes and analyzing their performance. The final designs integrate advanced materials with optimized structural properties, ensuring high performance and user satisfaction.My Role on the TeamMy primary contributions included assisting with materials testing, operating and maintaining specialized equipment, and collaborating with engineers and designers on prototype development.
