▪ Managed the engineering design & development of new hardware IoT products from conception to launch. Each product had an in-house PCBA design, custom-tooled IP69 rated enclosure, embedded firmware, and software UI integrated with our other products.▪ Guided the contract manufacturers (CM and JDM) through the hardware build phase gates (prototype, EVT, DVT, PVT, MP) according to our product requirements. This meant developing a realistic schedule, monitoring cost, sourcing components, mechanical tooling, PCB SMT, final assembly, validation testing, and reliability testing.▪ Led cross-functional engineering teams (EE, ME, FW, SW, QA) through the full product development lifecycle, while coordinating with non-technical teams to hit deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment.

▪ Responsible for development of the interface (physical layer and signal processing) between our devices and the vehicle. This involved collaborating with OEM’s to develop a custom connection point, designing and testing the solution, plus developing support documentation based on actual user feedback and field data.▪ Served as the company’s engineering point of contact to the industry and was responsible for building relationships with manufacturers, partners, and clients.

▪ Designed functional replacements for legacy electrical systems that were critical to the daily operation of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, where the consequences of interrupting service for even one minute meant millions of dollars lost. These live system cut-overs involved alternate/backup power sources for entire pump stations, sensor monitoring throughout the pipeline, and multiplexing various types of communications.▪ Traveled on-site frequently in remote Alaska to troubleshoot electrical challenges in the field, while creating the missing documentation and CAD drawings for legacy systems built up to 50 years prior.
