RECENT PROJECTS:+Re-design wireless infrastructure: We have had to change our previous wireless plan to compensate on the growing number of devices on our network, both company issued and BYOD. We have now effectively separated our traffic to multiple VLAN’s and instituted both a captive portal and bandwidth cap for personal devices so they do not effect domain systems.+D-Link San storage migration: We were having performance issues with our two SAN’s and I had to migrate all data to temporary storage, destroy the RAID 10 and RAID 5 volumes, upgrade the disks to WD Re Series drives, Create 1 large RAID 10 volume and reinitialize the iSCSI connection to the cluster nodes. We saw a 60% increase in performance on all current VM’s because of this migration.+Replaced aging cluster with new servers: Our primary cluster consisted of 2 Dell 1950 servers and they were having a hard time keeping up with our growing virtualization needs. I purchased two new Dell R720 servers, added them as nodes to their own cluster, attached half the iSCSI connections to the SAN and did a migration of all VM’s before decommissioning the cluster.+Deployed 200 iPad’s to faculty and students: The high school is currently doing a 1-to-1 initiative with iPad’s for grades 9-10 and adding grace 11 this up-coming school year. I designed the deployment process and trained our support staff on how to enroll devices into the management suite and deploy profiles to the devices. We have had multiple regional school contact us for training on how to replicate our process.+Documented step-by-step instructions on all daily Network Administrator tasks: Coming in to my current role there was little to no documentation available for day-to-day tasks so I have spent the last 12 months creating a large directory of tutorials, SoP’s and common scripts.
