Sean graduated from the University of Utah with a BS in mechanical engineering and a minor in physics in 2017. Before graduating he interned at Power4Flight LLC and Hood Technology Corp in the summers. Upon graduation he was hired on at Power4Flight as a full-time engineer. He developed a belt-driven starter generator system for a 5kW UAV engine, tested permanent magnet synchronous motors and controllers, and added fuel injection to a 1kW engine for a tube launch UAV.Then Sean moved to South America for 18 months. He cemented his fluency in Spanish while working on residential solar-power and well-water solutions in Pichilemu, Chile. He also helped create a commercial store and yoga studio before returning to the US after almost two years abroad.Upon return he was simultaneously working as a contractor at Trillium Engineering LLC on gimbal flight test systems and Power4Flight LLC on cross-platform user interface software using C, C++ and Flutter. Within 6 months he transitioned to full-time at Power4Flight to work on a 2kW series hybrid system, create an ECU production test fixture PCB. Sean continues working for Power4Flight and spends the majority of his effort on a next generation power management unit for UAVs with sophisticated starter-generator control, high-voltage battery charging, and battery backed power distribution. He is leading customer integration, hardware development and production.
