Responsible for executing the AFICA business development plan for a 6 state region throughout the central United States. Direct and develop a staff of 7 business development staff members whose responsibilities include business development, underwriting, agency management and relations, competitive analysis, and company brand management throughout the central United States including Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri.

Direct and develop a staff of 10 Loss Control Consultants who are servicing a workers compensation book of business throughout the Midwestern States of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri. Responsible for ensuring loss control and agency marketing services are provided in a consistent and efficient manner throughout all markets and are in line with company objectives and goals.

Responsible for the execution of AIG Middle Market Workers’ Compensation account service guidelines for over 65 accounts, ranging in premium size from $150,000 to $2 million, throughout Northern and Central Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska.• Execute loss control service for a workers’ compensation book of business consisting of $75 million in premium and average of 65 accounts.•Maintain a strong working relationship with brokers and clients that allow for the communication of service concerns to the underwriter, claims representative, or other pertinent party as needed.•Perform physical site surveys on written accounts to identify leading loss sources, insured implemented controls of those sources, and make abatement recommendations for identified deficiencies.•Provide expertise to accounts regarding employee safety programs, employee training programs and material, job site safety, claims handling procedures, modified duty, and claims cost control measures.

Responsible for program administration and technical guidance with all matters pertaining to loss control, workplace safety, OSHA compliance, and environmental compliance for 118 food retail stores, 2 distribution centers, and a manufacturing facility. Duties include the supervision and development of a staff of 9 Loss Control Coordinators.•Reduced employee accident frequency by 32% between 2001 and 2002.•Accomplished a 63% reduction in workers’ compensation claims severity in 2002.•Reduced the Dominick’s workers’ compensation budget by $2.75 million during 2002 as a result of accident reduction and prevention.•Reduced the Dominick’s OSHA recordable employee accident frequency from 11.29 in 2001 to 6.94 in 2002.•Administered all OSHA, Fire Protection, and other safety related regulatory compliance contacts throughout the Dominick’s Division retail stores, distribution center, and manufacturing plant.

Responsible for ensuring the compliance of approximately 250 food service establishments with applicable food safety and sanitation regulations, training of food service operators in safe food handling practices, and investigation of food-borne illness outbreaks.
