Wanted to work on my own and with brand new companies and products. I discovered an incredible startup community in Dallas via Startup Weekend, Tech Wildcatters (Dallas incubator), and one of the earliest co-working spaces, CoHabitat - and many of the startups were looking for PR support. I "set up shop" as a freelance media strategist and consultant, and the business grew quickly. I was inspired by the cover of Batman issue no. 1 that promised "All Brand New Adventures" and it became the name of the company. I learned the basics of kicking off a new company, including business development, supporting startup clients on their unique communications needs, managing and coaching contractors, developing tools and process flows to optimize our effectiveness. I continued to consult with established game developers and publishers I had met through Nintendo, and ultimately that led me (back) to Zebra Partners (my old bosses at Nintendo when I was at Golin).
