Sean is responsible for leading the economic development strategy for Central Florida's Polk County.The mission of the Central Florida Development Council is to grow an economy based on high-skill, high-wage sustainable businesses. The CFDC focuses on domestic and international business recruitment and expansion, business advocacy, facilitating collaborative partnerships and advancing strategic priorities in Central Florida’s Polk County.

Responsible for leading the business development team and implementing the economic development plan for Central Florida Development Council, Inc. and Polk County.

Directed Florida Poly’s industry alliances, meeting with business leaders and introducing them to Florida Poly partnership opportunities. Malott was the liaison for economic development organizations as well as businesses that rely on science, engineering, technology and mathematics (STEM) to run and grow their companies. In his role at Florida Poly, Malott led several collaborative programs at Florida Polytechnic University, including industry aligned curriculum development, industrial advisory boards, identifying internship, co-op and mentorship opportunities and joint research partnerships.

Oversaw recruitment and retention for 1,000s of higher-wage positions and 100s of companies in the IT and logistics industries across 67 Florida counties, serving the Governor and Secretary of Commerce of Florida. Maintained rigorous travel schedule in meeting with economic development organizations statewide. Marketed the appeal of numerous, diverse community locations, infrastructures, resources and workforce availability in the state. Represented the State of Florida at trade industry events, conferences, and site selectors nationwide.

Coordinated strategies and gathered/analyzed data to drive economic development efforts. Represented Pasco County to companies considering relocation and expansion, leveraging prior background in real estate and professional services. Oversaw workforce board contract implementation, including development of training program initiatives and a business referral network. Directed technical team in building a web-based lead generation network.

Identified and secured C-level prospects for financial outsourcing services within a nationwide territory. Designed and implemented business development plan for all offerings; supervised digital marketing activities for new Research & Analytics division.

Managed all aspects of real estate firm that specialized in residential sales and property rental management. Built and supervised team of 4 in all operational functions, including due diligence, finance, marketing, and customer service.

Managed all business services conducted with clients, including revenue opportunity growth, requirements documentation, and project management functions. Major clients included Ty, Inc and Gatorade Sports Science Institute.

Created customer service evaluation and implementation system. Trained staff on productivity tools such as Microsoft Office and internet resources. Worked directly with executive management team to develop international internship program.

Created customized product packages and pricing structures for commercial, industrial and utility accounts in region. Compiled equipment technical specifications and provided end-user support for industrial applications.

Coordinated all logistical planning for international business conference for 450 delegates from 82 countries. Recruited and trained 15 staff members from 11 countries. Negotiated corporate sponsorships with Fortune 500s including 3M, Hewlett Packard and Home Depot and worked with the Mayor’s office to create AIESEC day in Atlanta and received key to the city.

Implemented marketing strategies and campaigns for celebrity clients and their families. Assisted in various aspects of contract and infringement negotiations. Helped with the recruitment of new client properties.
