In a challenging and dynamic environment, I worked across functional areas to ensure on time delivery of clinical WES/WTS testing reports. Originally designed workflows were unable to handle the volume and complications of testing and I utilized my experience and problem-solving skills to drive completion of testing and meet TAT expectations.As workflow manager for the WES/WTS testing I monitored all clinical accessioning and worked with accessioning team to ensure seamless workflow. I oversaw laboratory results to determine next steps in workflow for problem samples. I worked with client services team on daily basis to communicate with providers on testing issues and client inquiries. I monitored all WES/WTS pipeline executions and coordinated with bioinformatics team to resolve issues and worked with software development teams on improvements to reporting software. I developed dashboards to manage the assignment of clinical cases to the curation team and laboratory directors and provide them with all necessary information for timely report generation. I coordinated and managed schedules for an entirely remote team of 10 PhD variant scientists. I delivered monthly and on demand reports on workflow metrics for laboratory directors, Senior VP of Somatic Oncology and other stakeholders. I maintained data outside of the in-house developed LIS and reporting software to account for shortcomings and ensure testing performed on all orders.
