As Director of Information Technology I was tasked with transitioning this family owned and operated 5 terminal, LTL Freight Carrier from an older “mom-and-pop” style of operations into a more robust system that would allow the business to grow. All major projects were completed in house without the purchase of expensive systems as the budget of this mid size company did not allow it. In addition, the purely technical tasks, I was also responsible for all telecom (T1, voice and Data, cellular, network) and maintenance contracts. Over the years we have steadily increased the efficiency of all our networks and calling capabilities while reducing cost dramatically.After 2 ½ years with the company I was promoted to Executive Director; in that role, I became responsible for the daily management all corporate departments (HR, AR, AP, CS) in addition to my continued role for Information Technology. As Executive Director I was considered an essential part of the management team and was responsible for roughly 15 who reported to me. Under my direction, all departments saw an improvement in efficiency and data accuracy; overall customer satisfaction was improved, and A/R collections as of March 2009 had never been better.

Voicelink provides unlimited International calling plans for a flat monthly fee. As the IT backbone of this company, I created, programmed, and managed the infrastructure to 1) accept internet leads to our host via HTTP post, 2) verify leads using background services to confirm phone#, name, address, etc, 3) processing billing method (ACH, Credit Card, Bill-to-Phone), 4) maintain and process recurring billing records, 5) provide customer service access to manage accounts, cancel account, and process refunds.

During a period of extended severance benefits, I continued to function as a consultant for several businesses that I had previous experiences with. In that capacity, I developed, implemented, and managed individualized software, hardware, and network solutions for my clients.Examples of Accomplishments:• Developed and managed all aspects of a certified Credit/Debit/EBT/Check transaction processing system including X.25 front-end, SNA and TCP communications to authorization networks, ACH processing and settlement systems.• Deployed and Managed DB2 database as part of payment transaction processing system.• Continued to provide on demand support for Sunglass Hut Intl’s AS400, point-of-sale, and Lotus Domino systems. • Managed all aspects of several outsourced development projects including developing specifications, timetables, and costs.• Organized office processes to support transaction based business including merchant and terminal support, settlement and bank processing, and all back office operations.• Designed, implemented, and administered Windows 2K, 2003 based networks and Internet connectivity solutions.• Documented and provided technical writings with respect transaction processing systems required as part of the sale of the company.• Providing problem resolution and upgrade support for a multi-server Lotus Domino installation.• Developed Visual Basic applications to support transaction/message processing systems.

Senior Manager directly responsible for the business analysis, functional specifications, development timetables, prioritize requests, and operational integration of development projects on the company’s major operating platforms. Aside from my position on the development team, I was the only developer allowed to directly manage server and network issues due to my knowledge and my ability to ‘tie’ all the pieces together to create an effective, cohesive infrastructure. Directly managed a team of developers and operations staff.

Provided full-time project development and support to multiple clients for nearly 9+ years. In most cases, I was responsible for managing the systems, networks, operations, project analysis, and application development for ‘my’ client sites. Examples of Accomplishments:• Managed frame-relay based communications networks for 30+ location NYC based grocery chain;• Developed credit/debit processing systems for same grocery chain including communication systems thru POS systems, processing gateways, to the authorizing card processors.• Managed operations staff, daily operational functions, created job schedules.• Developed major store help desk systems and worked with review team to identify future enhancements. • Implemented wireless store systems for inventory and stock management.• Developed IBM 4680 point of sale applications and data interface solution• Created and maintained EDI systems for 2 major wholesalers.• Provided Documentation and Technical specs for all projects to clients.• Managed and development full-scale warehouse inventory management and locator system for a NY based electronics parts distributor, system included the extensive use of wireless and barcode technologies.• Managed and developed employee time recording and payroll systems for national office management firm. • Managed and develop INS certification and reporting systems for employees.• Designed, implemented, and administered several office Windows and Novell network schemes.
