As Director of IT for the Lab Manager program, I managed 20 members by delegating tasks and approving network and system changes. I focused on assigning daily tasks, handling the technically challenging projects, and standardizing our documentation for better coordination amongst the team.

Helped faculty and students with any technical issues, worked with vendors on new integrations and troubleshot performance concerns. In total I was responsible for over 2500 wireless clients, over 250 wired clients, 30 switches, 1 router, 2 firewalls, 4 hosts, 1 SAN, and 20 virtual servers.My Projects:• Redesigned network infrastructure by rebuilding our cloud configuration to support load balancing capabilities whilst still reducing cost by well over 50%, made multi-gig and multi-link standards for any new installs, started a network transformation to Meraki, and configured a Cisco WiSM into a high availability cluster.• Overhauled network security most notably by configuring AAA using RADIUS and LDAP, logging to off-premises servers, stronger protection of credentials at rest with Scrypt hashes, and ACLs to limit the available attack surfaces.• Revamped our server infrastructure with a redesign of our Windows WDS/MDT server, and the implementation of a new NTP server.• Improved client and server security by introducing Microsoft’s LAPS to automatically regenerate local admin credentials, creating a certificate server to for authenticated and encrypted communication between devices, and by building a script to automatically update remote desktop with the proper certificates.• Created an entirely separate network from the ground up with its own hosts, storage, and networking. This was implemented to test ideas and concepts before deployment on the production network. This sandbox utilized a Palo Alto 3050, a Cisco 2960X, a Dell PowerVault with 13 TB of raw storage, and 5 Dell PowerEdge R710s.
