I’ve spent the last 25 years working in technology in London, Silicon Valley and now Ireland specialising in AI, fintech and e-commerce. I am the founder and CEO of Seapoint, an AI powered banking and finance platform serving VC backed startups in Europe.Over the years, I've held several leadership roles:* I was the CTO of Algolia, the market leader in AI powered search - serving 17,000+ companies and trillions of searches a year. We built the only scalable hybrid LLM search engine in the world leveraging vector compression technology.* I was the CIO for Stripe in Europe and led a global engineering organisation overseeing the development and operations of 40+ local payment methods across Europe, Asia, and the Americas that processed hundreds of billions of dollars. * At Zalando I was a VP Engineering, and ran an AI & Machine learning organisation with almost 200 data scientists and engineers. My team built critical infrastructure, algorithms and experiences for 50 million customers in 17 countries like personalised search, browsing and AI recommendations. * Over 7 years at Google, I built and led teams working on strategy, operations, big data and machine learning. The highlight was the 3 years I spent in Silicon Valley working at Google X launching Wing, a “moonshot” involving autonomous drones that deliver food. * Prior to Google, I was a serial entrepreneur, founding 3 startups in 10 years, the most successful being Masabi which now processes > $1bn+ in train tickets per year. I am passionate about helping startups. I angel invest as a Sequoia Scout and advise Elkstone Ventures Irish seed fund. I serve on the board of Manna Drone Delivery and mentor founders + CTOs on scaling product & engineering. I also enjoy shaping public policy, and have advised the Irish government on AI strategy, and the ECB and Bank of England on digital currencies.I was educated in the UK and have a degree in Computer Science from Cambridge University.
