Sean Naderi was born in Potomac, Maryland in March 1982 to parents Dr. Michael Naderi, a dermatologist, and Linda Naderi, a high school economics teacher at The Field School. Sean was the first of four children, followed by his sisters and brother, Emma, Katherine, and Joseph, respectively. Sean's parents raised their children with a strong sense of adventure and a lust for learning, and encouraged their children to both explore their interests as well as pursue their passions. Sean quickly became interested in several activities and hobbies from a young age.Sean was always adventurous and curious, and applied such qualities to learning about science and other mysteries that fascinated him. When he was ten years old, Sean Naderi began attending "science camps" where he was exposed to age-adjusted curriculum for chemistry, biology, and astronomy. Starting around middle school, Sean became highly passionate about sciences, biology being his favorite subject.Upon graduating, Sean went on to attend the Columbia University in New York where he majored in biomedical engineering. While in college, Sean became exposed to the artistic landscape in New York, and learned a great deal about theater and performing. Sean joined the Fruit Punch improvisation group his freshman year and fell in love with performing. Always considering a comedian amongst his peers, Sean thrived in a performance setting and loved making an audience laugh. Sean Naderi graduated in 2004 with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. After a couple of years of working in the pharmaceutical industry, Sean went on to pursue a PhD in Genetics at Georgetown University where he completed his doctorate in 2010. While completing his PhD, Sean met his eventual wife, Sarah Metz, in 2007. They married in 2010.
