In this inaugural position, I was the sole student editor among faculty working on the school magazine reaching an audience to over 8,000 people. Bringing a student lens to the magazine, I introduced innovative angles to the magazine’s content that aligned and resonated with our school’s unique visual narrative. I recruited writers/artists to assignments with a goal to make the magazine more accessible and student driven. I assisted the Editor-in-Chief in making executive decisions through layout, design, feature photos, writing copy, in addition to writing feature articles. This experience allowed me to develop skills in print media production, marketing, communications, and leadership.

As a Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Poly Record literary and arts magazine, I led the magazine through its formative years, overseeing its production and editorial direction for two years. I was responsible for publishing a new issue each semester, distributing over 250 copies per issue. My role involved making all final editorial decisions, shaping the magazine's inaugural vision and voice, and managing the collection of diverse art and writing submissions. I also implemented leadership applications, delegated tasks and deadlines, and established production schedules. Additionally, I promoted the magazine through email campaigns and spoken word engagements, ensuring its visibility and engagement within the community.

Interning for the Communications Department, I’ve written articles, edited media, and has allowed me to branch out into further editing positions and projects. Tasks include managing databases (i.e. PhotoShelter) by tagging and organizing media assets, gathering and relaying school-wide information, and assisting in clerical and administrative work to further the department.

Working my way up from staff writer as a freshman, I was features editor and online managing editor in grades 10 and 11, respectively. My main tasks included developing and assigning news stories, editing and fact-checking all news articles, corresponding with EICs along with other section editors. One of my feature spreads won a Columbia Scholastic Press Association Award in Columbia University’s annual competition, drawing from over 4,000 entries.
