Improving social determinants of health and public health in under-resourced communities through education, empowerment, and leadership development.

Designs, implements, and evaluates public health, social determinants of health, chronic disease, and community-clinical initiatives that improve individual and population health. Develops cross-sector partnerships that address health disparities and systemic racism. Leverages expertise in research methods, biostatistics, social and behavioral science, systems change, health care quality improvement, and public health policy. Delivers public and professional prevention and health education. Promotes staff development and increases organizational capacity. Creates grant proposals, budgets, work statements, evaluation plans, databases, and reporting procedures.

• Co-directed the Southeastern Pennsylvania Tobacco Control Project, a multimillion-dollar public health program funded by the PA Department of Health.• Designed and delivered training to social service and healthcare professionals on best practices for tobacco dependence treatment.• Facilitated virtual and in-person tobacco recovery groups at Interim House West for new mothers in recovery and The Bridge for justice-involved youth and young adults.• Directed housing agency and community health center collaborations in the Getting Further Faster program, a CDC initiative aimed at improving social determinants of health.• Organized tobacco treatment providers for monthly discussions to improve program outcomes.• Served on the advisory council for the PA Statewide Tobacco-Free Recovery Initiative to develop and deploy a plan to integrate tobacco treatment into behavioral health and addictions treatment.• Oversaw the development and utilization of health education curricula on topics such as vaping and nicotine prevention, tobacco cessation treatment, opioid use disorder prevention, and gun violence prevention.• Led data analysis, research and evaluation services.• Created physical and online marketing and outreach strategies and content.• Supervised the Program Manager.

• Managed activities and deliverables across 7 counties, and 15 community-based organizations and hospitals conducting tobacco treatment, prevention, and enforcement.• Chaired the Southeastern PA Tobacco Control Project Coalition, a multi-sector healthcare, wellness, and tobacco-focused learning collaborative.• Worked with leadership, fiscal teams, and administration to maintain budgets, invoices, and contracts.

Conducted team-based corporate wellness visits with finger-prick cholesterol testing, blood pressure testing, and nutrition and physical activity health coaching.

• Conducted analysis of state-by-state differences in policies and laws related to naloxone access and opioid overdose.• With the CDC, designed tools to standardize the evaluation of the efficacy of opioid use prevention and public health programs.

• Facilitated tobacco cessation counseling for the City of Philadelphia Department of Public Health.• Conducted lab-based cue reactivity clinical treatment research.• Trained and supervised research assistants. • PhD Dissertation: Social Problem-Solving, Negative Affect, And Smoking Urge Reactivity During Baseline Cue Exposure.

• Surveyed residents about household tobacco use and respiratory health care needs to better understand the impact of environmental hazards on low-income neighborhoods.• Conducted over 25 environmental health, asthma, and tobacco workshops at Temple Lung, Penn Lung, Nemours, Jefferson Hospital, and City of Philadelphia Health Centers. • Wrote reports and grant proposals.

• Collected and entered data for a federally funded study on depression, problem-solving, and cardiovascular health outcomes at Hahnemann Hospital as part of the Nezu Lab.

• Conducted data entry, and phone screening, and maintained relationships with families participating in an ADHD treatment study.
